Jollof Bowl is getting its money from Uber Eats, and now owners want to help others
Jollof Bowl in Baltimore has received most of its outstanding Uber Eats payments after WMAR-2 News coverage, as other businesses report similar issues. After WMAR-2 News reported that Jollof Bowl was waiting on thousands of dollars in outstanding payments from Uber Eats, the restaurant claims it has received most of the money owed. The story has sparked a wave of similar complaints from other business owners. Co-owner Lekan Oketunji said Uber Eates became responsive almost immediately after the news aired and has since been responsive to their calls and emails. The community has also rallied around Jolloof Bowl, supporting the restaurant. A representative from Uber confirmed that scams targeting businesses can lead to holds and delays in payment. The remaining money should be returned within one to two weeks.
