Valladaos, who has no formal training, finds inspiration from art in museums or walking down the street. He uses Atlantic pumpkins that weigh 100 to 1,000 pounds and their thick skins allow him to create an illusion of depth. His creations have been featured on "The Tonight Show," and he has received requests to carve pumpkins at venues such as the San Diego Zoo, the California Academy of Sciences and the State Fair of Texas.
