Meet Harford County Education Board Candidate Joe Fleckenstein 2026 Election Spotlight
Harford County Board of Education District C Candidate Joe Fleckenstein spoke with Patch about the upcoming election. Joe Fleckenstein is running for the Harford County Board of Education District C in the 2026 election. He believes that the future of our children and grandchildren is the primary issue, with only around 60% of HCPS students passing the State-level English Language Arts Exam and 50% passing similar testing in Math and Science. Instead of focusing on basic reading comprehension, phonics, cursive writing, and understanding world geography and American history, he believes in teaching academics over political activism. He also suggests that students should never be promoted to the next grade level until they have mastered the material in their current grade.
