A fatal crash claimed a 29-year-old woman in Anne Arundel County, police said. She was driving from Interstate 97 onto Route 50. A fatal crash in Annapolis, Maryland, has claimed a 29-year-old woman, Shannon Rita Alan, who was pronounced dead on the scene after leaving the roadway for unknown reasons and hitting an embankment. The single-vehicle wreck occurred on a ramp from Interstate 97 South onto U.S. Route 50 East. Alan was the only person in the 2020 Honda HR-V. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A fatal crash claimed a 29-year-old woman last Thursday in Annapolis, police said.
Troopers identified the victim as Shannon Rita Alan of Annapolis. Authorities said Alan was driving on a ramp from Interstate 97 South onto U.S. Route 50 East when she left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit an embankment around 9:50 p.m.
Troopers said Alan, who was pronounced dead on the scene, was the only person in the 2020 Honda HR-V.
