The released footage captures the perspectives of multiple officers present at the scene. One officer can be seen engaging in a conversation with the suspect, who then stands up and attempts to pull out a firearm. The officers are heard repeatedly shouting, “Drop the gun” at the suspect.
Tragically, the suspect fired at the officers as he backed into a nearby home. In response, the officers discharged a total of 39 rounds, resulting in the suspect’s death, according to police statements.
Commissioner Worley confirmed that all officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation conducted jointly by the Independent Investigations Division of the Attorney General’s Office and the Baltimore Police Department’s Special Investigative Response Team (SIRT).
