Port of Baltimore to partially open by end of April, officials say

The channel entering the Port of Baltimore may be partially open for vessel traffic by the end of the month. The Corps plans to open a 280-feet wide and 35-feet deep channel, followed by a more permanent 700-foot wide, 50-foot deep channel by May. Vessel traffic has been suspended due to ongoing cleanup from the Key Bridge.

The channel entering the Port of Baltimore may be partially open for vessel traffic by the end of the month, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimated.

The Port of Baltimore on Thursday announced the Army Corps expects to first open a channel that is 280-feet wide and 35-feet deep, and a more permanent 700-foot wide, 50-foot deep channel by the end of May.

Vessel traffic in and out of the port has been suspended as cleanup from the Key Bridge is underway.
