Fatal Crash Claims 1, Hospitalizes 2 In Pasadena: Police

A fatal crash claimed a woman's life in Pasadena, police said. Two other victims went to shock trauma. A fatal collision involving a two-car wreck on March 25 in Pasadena, Maryland, claimed the lives of 31-year-old Mary Amelia Jones and a 2005 Ford Taurus sedan. The accident occurred at the intersection of Ritchie Highway, also known as Maryland Route 2, and Pasadena Road. The Toyota 4Runner SUV was driving north on Ritchie High and approaching Pasadena Road, collided with the Ford sedan. Both victims were transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment. Police have not specified who was at fault in the accident.

Officers identified the deceased victim as 31-year-old Mary Amelia Jones of Chester. Authorities said the two-car wreck happened March 25 around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Ritchie Highway, also known as Maryland Route 2, and Pasadena Road.

A 2016 Toyota 4Runner SUV was heading north on Ritchie Highway and approaching Pasadena Road, police said. Officers said Jones was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus sedan west on Pasadena Road and entered the intersection at Ritchie Highway.

The Toyota hit the Ford in the intersection, authorities said without speculating who was at fault. Police said medics pronounced Jones dead on the scene.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department took Jones' front seat passenger and the Toyota driver to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a press release said. Officers said both hospitalized victims suffered serious injuries.
