The move comes after Anthropic announced it had submitted a draft registration statement with the SEC and it had previously submitted a copy of a draft register statement with them. The company's filing praised AI as "one of the most consequential technologies in human history" and warned of potential risks posed by AI, noting that it can be used for harm or misuse, as well as misuse of AI systems. Concerns have grown in recent months due to AI-related security incidents and the resignation of a researcher at Anthropic. The firm reported a net loss of $80.7 billion over the first six months of this year, indicating the scale of its spending over that period.
