PLENTY BEHIND YOU THERE. KIM. YEAH, THIS IS INDICATIVE OF WHAT WE’RE SEEING OVER JUST A FEW MILE AREA HERE IN CARROLL COUNTY. IT WAS REALLY LOCALIZED TO THIS PARTICULAR AREA OF FINKSBURG, SYKESVILLE, ELDERSBURG AND A LOT OF TREES DOWN. YOU CAN SEE THIS IS SOMEONE’S FRONT YARD AND A LOT OF THE TREES WERE ALSO COVERING THE ROADS. WE HAD TREE CREWS OUT HERE EARLIER TRYING TO GET SOME OF IT OUT OF THE WAY, BUT IT’S GOING TO TAKE A WHILE. SO TODAY MOST HOMEOWNERS SPENT THE DAY ASSESSING AND JUST STARTING THAT CLEANUP. JUST DESTRUCTION. I MEAN, IT WAS IT HAPPENED JUST LIKE THAT. UM, IT WAS VERY QUICK DEBRIS, SCATTERED, SHUTTERS BLOWN OFF THE PORCH, ROOF PEELING, AND TREES DOWN EVERYWHERE, INCLUDING INTO THEIR BACKYARD POOL. THAT’S WHAT ANDREW FITZGERALD FOUND AT HIS FINKSBURG HOME WEDNESDAY NIGHT AFTER SEVERE STORMS AND A TORNADO WARNING. WE GRABBED THE KIDS, SENT THEM DOWN, AND WE WERE GETTING THE DOGS AND ANDREW WAS LIKE, IT’S COMING. IT’S HERE. LIKE IT’S CRAZY. A FEW MILES AWAY IN SYKESVILLE AND ELDERSBURG, NEIGHBORS CAME TOGETHER TO HELP WITH THE CLEANUP THERE. MANY WATCHED THE STORM ROLL THROUGH. YOU COULD JUST SEE EVERYTHING, LIKE ALL THE DIFFERENT TYPE CLOUDS COMING TOGETHER, GETTING THE ENERGY. AND THEN NEXT THING YOU KNOW, I IT JUST HAPPENED. AND I TOLD EVERYBODY, GET DOWNSTAIRS. SOUNDED LIKE A ROAR. KIND OF LIKE. AND THEN THE SKY RUMBLED. I FELT LIKE OUR HOUSE SHAKE. MAYBE MORE DOWNED TREES AND DOWNED WIRES. HAD BARTHOLOW ROAD AT CHERRY TREE LANE CLOSED THURSDAY AFTERNOON. MANY ROADS IN THIS AREA OF CARROLL COUNTY TREACHEROUS WITH LEADING OR DOWNED TREES, BUT STILL NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES. THE FITZGERALD FAMILY CONSIDERS THEMSELVES INCREDIBLY LUCKY. IF YOU GET THE ALERT, DON’T IGNORE IT. IT’S FOR A REASON AND EVEN IF IT COMES OUT TO BE NOTHING, AT LEAST YOU’RE SAFE BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO CHANCE IT. YOU KNOW, TAKE THAT CHANCE ON YOUR LIFE. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL DETERMINE WHETHER IT WAS INDEED A TORNADO THAT TOUCHED DOWN HERE IN CARROLL COUNTY, AS WELL, REPORTING LIVE I
