Worcester County woman charged with arson after allegedly setting fire to home with victim inside
A Worcester County woman was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree arson after admitting to intentionally setting a house fire that left a victim trapped on the second floor. A woman has been charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to a home in Worcester County with someone still inside. The incident occurred shortly after a woman reported being trapped on the second floor of the house. A police officer, EMS clinician, and volunteer firefighter were able to rescue the woman. Margaret Jane Benchama, who was initially identified as a person of interest, was later found and charged with first- and second-degree arson.
