Airbnb Sets New Rules That Limit Checkout Chores: What MD Travelers Need To Know
The vacation rental platform's new policy limits requests for chores that take substantial time or effort. Airbnb has implemented new rules that limit guest chores for reservations booked on or after Nov. 20, limiting requests for chores such as stripping beds, washing and putting away dishes or disposing of trash off the property. The rules also prohibit hosts from imposing fines or limiting access to amenities advertised in the listing. All house rules must be clearly stated in a designated section of the listing before booking, and any charges for these features must be included in the price of booking. Some exceptions may apply, but guests must still follow house rules and are encouraged to honor reasonable requests. Hosts who violate the policy could face warnings or be told to update their listings.
