The Retrievers failed on four of eight clearing attempts and were outshot, 17-4, in the first 15 minutes. Tingue made four saves, but the Danes scored another man-up goal and tallied with two seconds left on the clock to lead, 3-0 at the period's conclusion.UAlbany built the lead to 5-0 before UMBC sophomore midfielderbroke the seal, firing in a shot in from the left alley at the 6:29 mark of the second quarter. The Great Danes would score twice in a span of 2:23 and took a 7-1 halftime advantage.The Retrievers outscored the Danes, 4-1, in the third quarter to come within 8-5 after 45 minutes. Brown scored just 31 seconds into the period, but UAlbany equalized at the 6:43 mark. Then, Brown,andstrung together three straight to bring the visitors to within 8-5 with a minute remaining on the third quarter clock.But UAlbany countered with a 4-0 run before agoal with 3:20 remaining finalized the scoring. Galloway was the only other multiple-point scorer for UMBC with a goal and an assist.Senior defendermade his season debut and caused a pair of turnovers.UMBC returns home to face UMass Lowell on Saturday, April 8. The opening face-off is scheduled for noon.
